One of the most confusing research issues we have today is about using pictures in our projects. Many people think that if there are web sites that have thousands of pictures you can search through, then they must be free for anyone to use as they wish. This is not true. Pictures are protected by copyrighted because they are someone else’s creative works. That means we must have permission or pay to use the pictures in multimedia presentations or to print them. Contacting the creator/owner can be difficult and time-consuming. Luckily, there are many web sites that have been established for creators/owners to share their works.
